Description Byzantine Empire. Constantine IV (r. 668-685 AD), with Heraclius and Tiberius AV (Gold) solidus. Mint of Constantinople; struck ca. 668-673 AD. Graded AU 4/5 - 2/5 by NGC; artistic facing portrait on shimmering metal. Design: Helmeted and cuirassed military bust of Constantine facing, holding spear over shoulder and shield with horseman motif / Cross potent on three steps; Heraclius and Tiberius (younger brothers of Constantine) to left and right, CONOB (mintmark) below Reference: Sear 1153. Dimensions: 20 mm / 4.42 gm Condition: NGC AU 4/5 - 2/5, graffito, clipped. The clipped notation is erroneous as this coin is of full weight. An attractive piece.
