It is actively linked to a silicone resin, giving it even more benefit than typical siloxane-type combos and helping create a stronger bond that reduces the chance of premature peeling. It is a great choice as a base sealer before applying a finish coat about 7 days later, and it works especially well around pools and other exposed concrete surfaces. CS-Guard gives you a nice low to medium sheen while still bringing out the color in the concrete, and the formula itself has not changed with the name update.
