This is the diaphragm/ spring plunger assembly, which gets installed into the top plate of the Weber 32/36 DGAV/ DGEV carburetors. The Full Power Needle Valve Seat Assembly (64235.016), which this plunger operates, is sold separately: Certain Weber carburetors used a power valve to enrich the mixture only at at full throttle. This allowed the carburetor to be run leaner under all other conditions for cleaner emissions. Enriching the mixture at full throttle helps to avoid detonation and pinging under hard acceleration. This diaphragm is normally gutted and used to support the dump tubes in Formula Ford 1600, F2000, and Sports 2000 cars. Fits genuine Weber DFV, DFAV, DFEV, DGV, DGAV, DGEV, DGAS, and DGES carburetors. Note: The diaphragm for DF-Series, DGV 5A, and DGxS carburetors has been discontinued by Weber. This part number replaces them and thus it may look slightly different than the superseded part, but Weber assures us that the function is the same.
