CO-Z 4L Home Water Distiller 750W 1.5L/H Stainless Steel Interior

I used one of these for 7 years and it is still going after 200 gallons or more. Before it breaks I decided to get an upgrade. This newer model has two soft press buttons for on and off, up front, for effortless control. The metal FAN is now almost twice as powerful, only a bit louder but the extra air movement means your collector jug will not be warm as it is filling because the drip is cooler now with the better fan and longer tube. Since I distill all my CPAP and humidifier water in the cooler months, I use this as a heater in my small home, the more powerful fan pushes the heat out of the bathroom better and everything nearby the distiller is not as warm as the old one caused. The new top handle makes it easier to avoid steam scalding and it is just plain convenient. The rubber feet are very thick on this model and over all it is almost an inch higher. The good sealing silicone rubber gasket was a struggle to seat and it made removing the lid difficult until I added some food grade silicone grease around the rim of the pot, now it pops off effortlessly and will experience less wear. Plumbers and SCUBA divers carry this pure silicone grease. It comes with some descaling powder which was a solid lump in the bottle because of moisture intrusion. I find it is simpler to just pour an ounce or two of white vinegar into the pot when it gets crusty, letting it soak overnight before cleaning. Another improvement is the all stainless spout that holds the carbon filter. This came with four filters, I found that two would fit in the spout at the same time so they will last a year as long as you give them a chance to dry before storage. There were no hot spots in the wiring and connections. My jug’s lid had no gasket so it leaks when you tip the full jug but I just use the lid from my old one which is dripless. This model is your best bang for the buck since the fancy stainless steel outer jacket and glass collectors of more expensive models do nothing to make it work better, the unbreakable plastic jug provided is 100% perfectly safe for long term use for drinking.
